Experience Music, Masts, and Lobster Traps, an event to celebrate Maine’s lobster heritage. It will be held for the second year on August 25th at the Boothbay Railway Village Museum. This nonprofit event was created by Jesse Roche, a dedicated commercial fisherman who splits his time between the waters of Maine and Alaska. His deep-rooted connection to fishing, a way of life for many Mainers, inspired him to create an event that gives back to the Maine fishing community and educates those outside the industry about the working waterfront.

By purchasing a $30 ticket for this event, you not only get to enjoy live tunes, local food, and beer, but also play a crucial role in supporting your local fishing community. All proceeds from the ticket sales will directly contribute to the Maine Lobster Community Alliance (MLCA), a 501c3 non-profit organization supported by the Maine Lobstermen's Association. The MLCA is committed to ensuring a prosperous future for Maine’s fishing families and the communities they call home. Your support is invaluable.

This year, the event is set to be bigger and better, taking place from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., filled with local food, local brews, and live music. The lineup includes Paddy Mills, Muddy Ruckus, and Maine’s very own The Mallet Brothers Band. After a successful run at the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath last year, the Music, Mast, and Lobster Traps event has now found a new home at Boothbay. This move is a testament to the event's growth and our excitement to welcome more of the community.

"Muddy Ruckus will join Paddy Mills and The Mallett Brothers Band in our music lineup this year. Mere Point Oyster Company will shuck with us again, along with Shannon’s Unshelled, which offers many food choices. Many of the same exhibitors and some new ones, like Greencrab.org, will show guests how they can contribute to the effort against green crabs. Also, the Podcast Galley Stories is recording an episode. The podcast is a great way to hear how we live in the ocean, with interviews ranging from Sig Hansen to Dave Marciano. I'm looking forward to a great second year for us," Roche shared.

A special thanks to XTRATUF, Boothbay Railway Village Museum, Brooks Trap Mill, Robinson’s Wharf, First National Bank, Tindal & Callahan Real Estate, Atlantic Edge Lobster, Joe & Jill Doyle, Wilderness Medical Associates, First Federal Savings, Hamilton Marine, and Pine State Trading for sponsoring the second annual event!

Shannon’s Unshelled, Mast Landing Brewing Company, and Mere Point Oyster will also serve up local beers and seafood at the event.

“Last year, Maine Lobstering Community Alliance, Xtratuf, Rugged Seas, and Mast Landing Brewing Company took a chance with me and my idea, giving life to the event. I’m so grateful for them and our working waterfront community, who came together to make it happen," Roche said. "Through it, we really have an opportunity to raise awareness among the general public regarding our lives and challenges,"
